PBIS Bronze Award from the State of Ohio

We are excited to announce that Crissey Elementary will receive the Ohio PBIS Bronze Award for 2020-2021 by the State of Ohio in December for our Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports programming or PBIS. PBIS is a national research-based program which focuses on preventative behavior management on a school-wide and classroom level.

Through this program, supportive behavior initiatives are put in place in specific areas of the school setting such as the playground, hallways, cafeteria, restrooms, and classrooms. Through PBIS, staff use a common language of expectations which are taught directly to our students. Students are then positively recognized when following these school-wide expectations.

Our PBIS expectations, or Crissey Core Commitments, of Be Prepared, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe have become the foundation of our school climate. Each and every day, our Crissey Lions portray these four beliefs within their classroom and school community.

We are very proud to be part of this program and honored to be recognized by our state for our accomplishments.
